Composition

CytogenPrena is supplied frozen and ready to use. It contains modified alpha-MEM, antibiotics, L-glutamine, pre-tested fetal bovine serum (FBS), hormones, growth factors and phenol red as a pH indicator and is buffered with sodium bicarbonate. The homogeneous "ready to use" formulation reduces technical errors and contamination of the culture. In addition, Prenaplus supports more efficient cell attachment and faster cell growth of chorionic villus samples (CVS), leading to early chromosome analysis.

With CytogenPrena, Cytogen offers a medium that fulfills the requirements of Directive 98/79/EC of the European Commission and bears the CE mark as an IVD product.

However, each user must check (validate) the medium in their own environment before using it in the diagnostic routine to ensure that it is suitable under the specific local conditions.
