Composition

The CytogenAmnio medium is supplied deep-frozen and ready to use. It contains modified alpha-MEM, antibiotics, L-glutamine, pre-tested fetal bovine serum (FBS), hormones, growth factors and phenol red as a pH indicator and is buffered with sodium bicarbonate. Thanks to the homogeneous "ready-to-use" formulation, technical errors and contamination risks in the culture are reduced. In addition, CytogenAmnio promotes more efficient cell attachment and accelerated cell growth, which contributes to early chromosome analysis.

With CytogenAmnio, Cytogen offers a medium that fulfills the requirements of Directive 98/79/EC of the European Commission and bears the CE mark as an IVD product.

However, each user must check (validate) the medium in their own environment before using it in the diagnostic routine to ensure that it is suitable under the specific local conditions.
