Here, the type of clonality and the progression of the tumor is required. Especially in diseases of the hematopoietic system and in the case of leukemia, the FISH technique is commonly used to better differentiate the markers for certain diseases.

However, this area is so dependent on the experience of the laboratory and the diagnostician that recommendations and/or guidelines should hardly be given at this point without involving the professional association.

It should therefore only be mentioned at this point that the range of cell culture media has been optimized for these purposes and has been thoroughly tested in routine use.
